Who are the directors? Who appoints the directors in a company?

Directors are individuals that provide direction to a company and manage its affairs. They are involved in the management of the company. Directors appear as a lawfully appointed officer of the company in ACRA records.

  • A director must be at least 18 years old.
  • A person disqualified to act as a director can not be appointed unless court approval.
  • The shareholders of the company elect directors.

For most of the small companies, the director and shareholder is usually the same person.
