There is a simple process to be carried out before you register a company name in Singapore.
The proposed company name must be approved by ACRA before you register it. Make sure that it is well researched and unique. ACRA rejects any name that is the same, identical, or phonetically similar to another company’s name that has already been registered.
If the proposed company name has words such as ‘bank’ ‘insurance’ and ‘education,’ there are more regulations, and you would require permission by other government authorities.
Once your name is approved, you can possess the name for 60 days, and if you would like, you can ask for another 60-day extension. Within this time frame, the required action must be taken, or you would lose rights on the name.
