Can I use CPF (Central Provident Fund) for my healthcare needs?

CPF (Central Provident Fund) contributions that go into your Medisave Account build up the savings that you can use for your hospital expenses and approved medical insurance. You can also pay your dependents’ hospitalization expenses using your Medisave Account. These savings can also be used for specific outpatient treatments like radiotherapy treatments and chemotherapy.

CPF members can use their MediSave Account savings to buy ISPs (Integrated Shield Plans) for themselves and their family members (spouse, children, parents, and siblings) under the PMIS (Private Medical Insurance Scheme).

ISP has two components:

  • MediShield Life (managed by CPF)
  • Additional benefits that private insurers offered
