You must give written notice to the employee regarding the termination. This written notice must include the date when the notice is given and its period.
The employer must also notify the Tax authority (if Employee is a foreigner working in Singapore on work permit) – IRAS and withhold all payments and salary from the day the employer decided to terminate the employment. Once the IRAS finished the assessment, they issue a tax clearance certificate. It confirms that all taxes have been paid, and the employer can release the payment due to the employee. This procedure may take around 21 days
