Why did MOM raise annual salary requirement imposed on existing Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) holders?

The reason for raising the salary is to ensure only top tier talent utilizes this pass and come to Singapore. The person eligible for this must earn a fixed salary of at least $12,000 Per month (If already in Singapore) or $ 18,000 per month if applying from outside.

This is a premium pass with a few more added benefits.

Holders of this pass unlike the others do not need to reapply for this pass, they just need to notify the ministry of manpower. You can also stay in Singapore for a constant period, of up to 6 months without a job to search for new employment.
